Personally I think that as you lost it then you should buy the PE uniform with your own money. It's only $20! It will teach you a good lesson on the value of money. As I first started to read this question I was thinking - oh no worries just tell your dad. But I changed my mind when I got to the part that said "I really don't want to spend $20 of my own money..."

You know what - your Dad probably feels the same way but he gave you the money and now you have lost it - so bad luck! This time you will have to spend your own money.

Feel fortunate that you have a spare $20 and that you have a Dad. Some people in this life have neither.

Tell him what happened. You have to have the PE uniform for school so spend your money and get it. Then maybe he will give it back to you. He should understand.

Well if you tell your dad he will think you are irresponsible and might make you pay for it yourself. If you buy it yourself with your own money then you will have learned a lesson and not upset your dad.

Or tell your dad you are paying for the uniform because you lost his money and feel bad and he will be impressed.

Tell your dad and be honest... Then buy your PE uniform and don't act like a spoiled brat!

Well, you may not want to spend your own money, but I think that you owe it to your dad. You made a mistake, and you lost the money, so make up for it.

You lost the money he gave you, why shouldn't you have to spend your money. Since you don't have any respect for his money, I think the only fair thing is for you to cough it up and pay for it yourself. Next time, don't be so careless.

You sound like a selfish, spoilt little brat! You lost the money, suck it up girlfriend! & use your own money!

Tell your father. Communication is key in relationships. If you were a father, wouldnt you want your child to tell you?
