Umm, have you used a mac. Those ads are focusing on true differences in a funny way. Macs are virus resistant which was one ad. If you've used Vista yet you'd understand the "Accept or deny" ad. You can't do anything in Vista without an annoying pop-up asking you to approve it.

Microsoft Vista was a huge threat to Macs so they took creative license and pointed out all the bad things about Vista so people would think twice about purchasing Vista. Especially since Office 2007 has many of the graphic capabilities that Mac offers now.

The ads are clever but not necessarily effective.

Well, Apple is in competition with Microsoft.

Macs are capable of far more than art & music. They can do just about anything a PC can. They are more reliable.

Of course neither is as useful or reliable as Unix (yes, yes, Mac's run unix under the covers, but you get a small slice of all Unix has to offer and it is the most messed up and underdocumented Unix on the planet).

To increase their sales... Many companies do that to their competitors, example OUST vs LYSOL, this is common because when people are exposed to these commercials continously they usually accept the message that Microsoft sucks and that Apple is the best computer out there, which is not true at all.

Because the ads "just work" ;) kinda like Macs do. ;)

Vista was NEVER a threat to Tiger or Leopard - don't make me laugh.
XP is a threat to Vista.

Apple doesn't consider MS to be "competition" they just like poking fun at them because they can. Apple innovates and MS just tries to copy them - badly.

Leopard is actually POSIX certified (Certified as Unix)

It's called "competition." Personally, given the fact that Vista is SUCH a dog, I think they have a point.

I still have my PC because I'm more comfortable with it - but the truth is, every machine has its merits and - as the French often say - vive le difference!

The reason is because Macs actually work.

something tells me it has to do with Windows Vista over all problems. like severe problems with incompatability with old hardware, plus HUGE Vista "eats" amount of RAM
