I know the story that humans sinned so badly that God could never accept us in heaven. Therefore He sent His only begotten son to die for our past, present, and future sin.

Alright you don't need to explain this part.

If I killed a man how does my brother crucifying himself clean my sin? I stilled killed the man and I am still guilty and I still go to jail and I still got an evil heart.

After Jesus died did that make us less sinful? No.
We are still sinning and being as evil as we would be without Jesus sacrificing Himself.

Jesus playing dead for three days is irrevelant to our sins.

Its like saying that popping a balloon will make it snow in Malaysia. It is totally irrevelant.

So what if we believe Jesus played dead for three days?

We are still as sinful as we are and this sinful nature that we posses is what God can't accept in heaven.

So our sin is not cleansed, it is still here. Believing in Jesus won't cleanse it either.

Just don't make sense to me.

No, no.

Christ freed us from the bondage of sin, so upon repentance we are forgiven.

Not to be remembered, blotted out, never happened.

Mind you true repentance. It is not a license to sin habitually.

As long as we dwell in the flesh, all fall short.
Do not let anyone put you on a guilt trip.
It is between you and Christ.

Heb 2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;

Satan has/had the legal right (power) to accuse all.

In the old testament people could only have there sins covered until the next year, through animal blood sacrifice.
When Jesus died for our sins we no longer have to do animal blood scafices for ours sins. Jesus became the sacrifice for ours sins today. When you repent or turn away from sin they are removed. When you are baptized your sins are washed away.
We do have a sinful nature, but when you have the spirt of God living inside of you, you will want to do whats right and will not want to sin and will feel convicted when you do sin. Paul said in the Bible we must die daily. In meaning we will sin daily and must repent and ask Jesus for forgive us!

If you read you bible, look and find out where Jesus was those 3 days he died. You will find it very interesting. He just didn't play dead.

Jesus was no ordinary man. He is God, and Man, simultaneously. The meaning of His death transcends the boundaries our tiny minds can comprehend. It is true that His death was a legal substitution. As God is the designer of Justice itself, He can determine whether and when a substitute can be executed in our place. However, the justice of God reaches deeper than mere codebook rules. Jesus was able, in the mystery of God, to become one with us, so that our sinful deeds and his righteousness really did cross over. Sort of a time-space anomaly that really unites us with Him. We have a share in His future. He has a share in our past. That WAS us on the cross. C.S. Lewis once said, "Nothing God does is a sham." If you don't like that you don't understand it completely, join the club. If we could understand God completely He wouldn't be above us. God knew we wouldn't get it, so He also gave us the ultimate assurance that it really took: He raised Jesus back to life from being stone cold dead. You can't top that for a confidence builder.

God is ULTIMATE GOODNESS - the goodness of any individual means nothing to him - think about this: when you have rats in your house, do you distinguish between which rats are good and which are bad? Certainly not - their individual characteristics are insignificant to you! And the space between a rat and a human is only a fraction of the space betwen a human and God! So there is no difference in God's eyes between a mass murderer and a little old Buddhist lady in Tibet- they were both born into sin, and they will both die in sin unless they accept Christ.

But if you accept Christ, you will stop being like a Rat in God's eyes, you will be born again as a full human being.

And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment. Heb. 9:27

We are judged by the Ten Commandments.

Ever told a lie?
Ever hated anyone? See 1 John 3:15
Ever lusted after someone? See. Matt. 5:27-28
Ever blasphemed?

For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all. James 2:10

Lawbreakers go to hell.

Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. 1 Cor. 6:9-10

Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things WILL NOT INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF GOD. Gal. 5:19-21

But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” Rev. 21:8

This is clear and humbling. However God made a way so we wouldn't have to go to hell. Jesus (God in flesh) came to earth, lived a sinless life, and was crucified on our behalf. He rose three days later defeating death and in turn giving us an escape route from hell. But Jesus did command us to repent. That means to turn from sin to God. The perfect example of repentance is found in Psalm 51.

“The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.” Mark 1:15

I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. Luke 13:3

Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John 3:3

You see when you repent God gives you a new heart and new desires and they are desires to serve Him. As a result you are biblically born again! That my friend is good news!

Using your example as a start. You kill some one you are guilty of murder. Suppose another comes forward and takes responsibility for the for your crime, and then goes before the executioner and sacrifices his life to save you from punishment. The penalty has been paid, you are free. That is what Jesus has done for us.
And by the way 10 men died horrific torturous deaths for their testimony that Jesus did actually die. Would you and 9 of your friends die for a lie.
GOD Bless

Using your logic, it makes more sense than you think it does.

Jesus forgives us in order to know forgiveness in ourselves to know a life free of sin.

I trust the Holy Spirit of God regardless of any other truth.
The circumstances of Jesus birth and death are irrelevant to His truth. The only unforgivable sin is blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. Blasphemies of the Father and the Son are both forgiven.

The only thing that you may never doubt is the Holy Spirit.

What is the Holy Spirit?!

People who do not trust the Holy Spirit 100% of the time do not earn the respect of God. People of the Spirit know the truth. They embody the truth.

The tree of life produces good fruit.

Doubt the belief , gain the wisdom. It is impossible to doubt the truth. It is perfectly possible to distrust untruth, it's divine.

I find your logic refreshing. Here is my take.

Christ's sacrifice did not change you or me or any human. Belief in of its self will do nothing either. What can change is our actions. We will never be perfect but that is the promise for doing our best. If we follow his teachings and continualy repent, or strive to live better each day he will pay the penelty for what we can't do.

To describe it in a story form it would be like you accuring a large debt in order to buy a farm. You agree to pay it back in a certain amount of time and at first you work hard to plant and harvest your crops, but as time lapses you become distracted and procrastinate your chores. You make token payments but always tell yourself that there is time.
Eventually the time comes for the payment to be made in full. You plead with your creditor for more time, for mercy. He reminds you of your pledge, the contract and asks what mercy does for him. Justice must be full filled, he must recieve the money or you go to prision and he takes the land.
Justice and Mercy have no place to gether unless....
A friend sees your plight and agrees to pay your debt if the creditor will set you free and allow you to keep your land. He inturn looks to you and tells you that you will pay him back. He will be fair but strict.
Justice has been fulfilled, and Mercy served.
This is the purpose of Christ. His sacrifice fullfilled the needs of Justice and if we repent and follow him mercy will be served. If we choose not to then we must fullfill the needs of justice ourselves.

Good luck.

Good question...

You put your finger on why Jesus said we need to be we'born again".....
In order To DIE to sin and to be ressurrected into a new life by God's Holy Spirit.

We can be legally forgiven by Jesus's sacrifice.....but then we must be 'born again'by God's Holy Spirit..,,....so that as the Scripture says......
" We become a new CREATION in Christ....Old things pass away, and behold all things become new".

It comes from Judaism. In the Jewish religion when you sinned you sacrificed a lamb or other animal to be forgiven for your sins. The sacrifice had to be spotless and perfect. Jesus was that lamb for us. The sacrifice required by the law in order for us to be forgiven. Jesus is the lamb slain from the foundations of the world.
