You travel to the MEPS center 1st, If needed they will get you a bus ticket to get there. you do your final paperwork there, final drug test, final medical before going to boot camp.

Then they give you all of your transport info and arrangements for your flights and stuff. They usually assign a person in the group flying with you to carry all of the travel documents.

Once you arrive at the airport the Drill instructors meet you and put you on the bus that takes you to MCRD

No cost to you.

You are taken to MEPS by your recruiter at about 0400 in the morning the day you are supposed to ship out. Then depending on where you live you are drivenby bus to the airport with everyone else that is shipping with you that day and you fly to boot camp. Once you arrive on the other end you are again loading onto a bus and taken to MCRD. Just in case you live somewhere nearby the MCRD you will do the same thing but will skip the plane part, but not the bus part. MEPS will provide everyone with a direct flight airline ticket to get you to where you need to be. No cost to you at all.

Your recruiter will fill you in on this. He'll probably drive you to MEPS, or a friend or family member can drive you to MEPS... and from MEPS, your trip is handled. They get you to the airport or bus station, and give you a ticket to get wherever it is you need to go... whether it's Parris Island or San Diego. Once you're at the airport in PI or SD, the Marine Corps is kind enough to send a luxury bus and some very nice tour guides to help you through everything from there on out. :)

Depends on where you live, usually by plane and then by bus or van. But if you have any sense at all don't do it, there's five people sitting around this computer right now telling you so. If you absolutely have your heart set on the military, join the airforce, don't let all the macho bullshit fool you, when you see all the fat pieces of crap that make it through that joke of a bootcamp, you'll know what I mean. At least if you join the AF you won't get treated like a piece of crap for no reason, or have to obey arbitrary rules that only slow you down and demoralize you.

Assuming you mean Parris Island, you'll either fly or bus to Charleston (depending on the distance), and then sit there until about 3 in the morning before going to the MCRD.

MEPS establishes the flight for you. and trust me...when you get off the plane...you'll know exactly where to go. The drill instructor will explain it to you...very "kindly". Semper Fi and Good Luck.

They ship you out from MEPS. Be it train, bus, or plane. One of your group will be placed in charge of the packets started at MEPS.
