as long as the tattoo is healed then there should be no problem, i dressed my tattoo up for halloween last year.

Like someone else said, a healed tattoo is just like normal skin, so having sharpie on it shouldn't be any worse than if it were on any other part of your body. However, sometimes you can be poisoned or have an allergic reaction based on the ink. I had a reaction to ink from a regular pen that caused me to have a small seizure, so I'm very careful now to not draw on myself any more than I have to. It's unlikely, but I found out the hard way that it does happen.

So, yes, drawing on your skin may have made it hurt.

Once a tattoo is healed it is just like normal skin. If it is not healed, it is an open wound and of course can be effected. Is there marker on non tattooed skin? and if so, does it hurt too? it is possible you are having a reaction to the chemicals in the marker.

That is bizarre. I think that as long as your tattoo has healed, drawing over it should not hurt it. I put a birth control patch over my tattoo for 2 weeks in a row, and it didn't do anything at all to it.

If it is fully healed the tattoo should be fine.
