the m38's were a great binding and if you've maintained them(lubed and released the tension on the springs) properly and have your own vermont din tester(because there isn't a shop in the country that'll work on them) keep 'em for spring rock skis otherwise use them for kindling

"Good" is such an open ended term.

If all you plan to do is cruise blue square groomers, then even skis from the 1950s are "good"....as long as they are in decent shape and still perform to the standards you need.

If you are a competition GS racer..then "NO", get something new.

If you have put more than 150 days on your planks then you might want to consider new ones...although I have a pair of Volant's that have twice that and are still kickin'. It does depend on how hard you ski, terrain, close-encounters-of-the-rock kind, how often you tune and wax...etc...etc.

If you don't feel like pitching them and they (and the bindings) seem in relatively good shape, take 'em in for a tune up. Let the ski tech tell you what the diagnosis is. If the bases are shot and the edges are past the point-of-no-repair, then head over to the sales department. Otherwise, drop the $35 or so for thetune up and give them another year in the snow!

If they have a decent pattern on the base, perhaps you can make some lawn furniture out of them.

But seriously, if the bindings are older than 5-7 years, most used ski shops won't even look at them.

Ask yourself, in this day and age, would you use them? Would you recommend them to a friend? Do you know anyone you could even give them away to? I personally would answer no to all those questions if they were mine.

Put 'em on craigslist for a week, tell people you'll trade them for a case of your favorite beer. if nobody wants them, get some similar skis and build yourself a chair!

good luck
