the level of pain depends on where you have the tattoo done
the soft skin areas like the penis, under arms, inner thighs usually hurt like a mo fo.
the pain is pretty bad when they do the outline.. but when they start to colore it in.. HOLY SHIiT
if you want to actually feel what the pain is like.. get an 8" skillet and put it on the stove, put the flame on HIGH.. wait 15 minutes.. take the hot pan and then place it on the area you wish to get a tattoo on and leave it there for an hour or so.

It's a feeling of a pissed off bee stinging you over and over, after a while it just feels like an irritating scratch unless you get you close to bone. Thinner skin is closer to bone there fore it tends to hurt more than a padded fattier area. Pain is a measure that only you can judge. My first tattoo didn't really hurt but my second one hurt more on the parts closest to my spine. Your experience will be different from any one elses. It's not that bad, the pain goes away and you want more after it's all healed. For me, and as most have said, the healing process is the worst part! The scabs itch, your skin pulls and gets dry and you have to resist picking. Keep it moist, no scratching and follow after care given to you. I love my tattoos, would do them over again and have plans for more.

Yes they hurt, different amounts for different people. Endorphins kick in more for some than others. I have had some close to the bone that were a 9, almost unbearable, others on fatty arm tissue that was a 6.
But it will hurt, a lot for most people.
People want to act tough and deny it, but people cry, pass out, etc. It is 1-10 needles entering your skin and mvoing around.

Depends on where you get it, but yes it will hurt. Anything near your spine, or along any bone for that matter, will hurt the most. And just remember that the pain will end. It won't be forever.

Just make sure you really check out the place first. Ask people for recommendations. I also recommend applying preparationH afterward to reduce swelling. And don't wear your favorite article of clothing when you do it because it might get ruined.

What do you think? It's a needle poking into your skin over and over and over again. Does that sound like it would hurt?

Of course it hurts!!! The way I would describe the pain is it's a burning sensation, like someone is putting out a cigarette on your skin.

hell yeah they hurt. it's a needle going into your skin, it's just different feelings on different parts of your body, like your lower back on your spine, ouch that hurt. it's sorta like an irratating annoying pain but after a while you get use to it & it's not that bad :) it's all worth it in the end! as long as you take care of it & don't pick the scabs while it's healing..

lol i have one of those large back pieces haha. let me tell u man, when it hit the ribs it was horrible. but u just sit there and concentrate and it will pass.

the outline hurts much more then the shading, and from teh shoulder blades down hurt also much more.

the spine is not bad at all compared to the ribs, back of the ribs. anywhere near the sides are horrible

well i guess its all up to your pain tolerance but some places tend to endure more pain than other like the feet
but if your wanting to get one i guess its worth the pain and honestly i cant tell you what number it is because i hant gotten one
