The requirements to start BASIC (boot camp) are fairly simple. You have to take the ASVAB test. The results of which will tell you which jobs you can choose in the army. They have preferred physical requirements for before basic. 17 sit-ups, 3 push-ups and a 10:30 minute mile.
You need better than that to pass your PT test once you are in the Army. Around 18 minute 2 mile run, 50 sit ups in 2 minutes, and 20-ish push ups in 2 minutes.
Once you graduate basic and do PT in your unit, things are different. Some basic training units run about 3 miles every other day. But some real units run about 4 or 5 miles in a day. It all depends on your unit once you are out of training, the MOS you have and alot of other factors.
But the Army is a great choice. I would recommend picking a job that translates into a civilian job. Work on your degree while you are active duty, then use your GI Bill when you get out to get a Masters degree. The training in the medical field in the Army is second to none. Nurse, radiology, pharmacy or whatever. You can't beat the training and experience you get. That says nothing about the leadership skills, the discipline and the personal growth you will experience in the service. Hooah!!

I'm a female in the Army. You run just about every other day in training and if you enter at the age of 18 your requirement will be a 2 mile run in about 18 min...at least 18 pushups in 2 minutes and I believe it's 42 situps in 2 minutes...basic training is not that difficult now a days...good luck and HOOAH!

For the PT test all scores are based by age and sex. I am a male and when I went to basic at 17 I had to do 42 push-ups in 2 min. 52 sit ups in 2 min and run 2 miles in 15 min 54 sec or less. As a girl it will be less than that.

The Army has one of the easiest physical requirements, however as a girl I don't think you're allowed to be in the front lines or even on the ground where the fighting is going on. I could be wrong, but that's how it was about 10 years ago and I haven't heard anything about a change. Good luck though!

This is from memory, but I think I have it close. A female soldier needs to do 18 pushups, 48 situps and run 2-miles in 18 minutes to pass the PT test.
You will also find yourself shooting, marching and doing a few other general military things. But if you can pass the PT test you will be able to accomplish all of the others.
