I've been with my fiancee for seven years and we pretty much grew up together. We've had our lives planned out for years. And we always kind of planned on when he would propose since we knew for so long that we would get married but wanted to wait because of college... So anyways, I knew it was coming.
I didn't think it was a big deal but it seems like so many others were completely suprised. I guess it would be reassuring to know that there are others who knew as well.
Please share. :)

Haha... I'm with you *ae*. We're just terrible about secrets and suprises.
Like for holidays... I have to go shopping right beforehand or else I just have to give it to him eary. :) He's the exact same way! We just can't keep anything from eachother.

Yes, I too knew. We had talked about marriage for quite some time beforehand. We even had talked about some places and times for when we could get married! We were college sweethearts and were waiting for the right time financially and with our careers. When he did propose however, he was so damn cute and it did not matter that I already knew! Congratulations!!!!

Yea I'm weird... I knew the day it was gonna happen... not like thought, but KNEW because we talked about it in "hypotheticals" for weeks beforehand... we were both on cloud 9 the weekend he proposed because we both just knew it was about to happen. Some people might think it is weird... but i guess we have been together for 4 years and aren't good at keeping secrets or huge on suprises, so it is what it is.

I'm the same as you. He and I also grew up together, but for the longest time we hated one another. It wasn't until we became friends and started dating that knew we would get married but it was only a matter of time to make it official. We talked about it and started planning before he asked me. I knew it was coming since he told me it would be before a wedding I was going to, he just wanted to keep all the details a surprise.

We spoke about marriage for quite some time so I knew we would get engaged, just not the exact date, I had a suspicion he would propose on holiday in Amsterdam but was not 100% sure, so it still had the element of surprise to it.

I knew the exact day it was going to happen. Don't ask me how. I just knew...maybe because he was being super lovey dovey that whole weekend and I was just about to graduate from college. What really clued me in is when he was in the bathroom and I heard him drop something that went "ting ting ting ..." on the floor. We went on a walk, and he proposed. Even though I knew the whole time, it was still very exciting. Afterwards, I asked him if he dropped the ring in the bathroom, indeed he did.

Well, with my husband and I, we both knew it was more a matter of WHEN and not IF. We were both in love and knew we wanted to spend our lives together. We looked at rings so I knew it might be coming at some point soon but had no idea how or when.

We had talked about marriage for months. I knew he had a family heirloom ring that he planned to give me. I gave him my ring size and I knew when he had it sized and appraised. At one point, he even asked me how I wanted to be proposed to. I told him that since I knew he was going to ask and he knew I was going to accept, that I'd like something about the proposal to be a surprise. He did a great job of that: it was a beautiful and romantic proposal that I didn't see coming that night. So, I knew, but I didn't know.

well i knew because i did the asking. yes, i asked him. i dont believe in that nonsense that the guy has to do the asking. marriage is supposed to be equal.
we had previously discussed when the right time was going to be, so i kind of knew when the right time would be for both of us. anyway we went on holidays but he knew something was up.

We had talked about marriage after dating seriously for about a year and a half. So the exact proposal was a surprise (I think it was to him, too, he wasn't prepared with a ring - I got it later), but it was wonderful!

i had no clue. he bought the ring a few days before asking.
he had arranged for all our friends to have lunch out together.
i didn't think anything more of it than- oh we finally got everyone together. we had a great lunch then when he ordered dessert they brought me a plate with a napkin over it. i knew what it was after that point but never expected it to happen.
the night before some of us where hanging out and he said again that he didn't plan to get married any time soon... so i wouldn't have expected us to get engaged the next day
i was 10000000000000000000000% not expecting it. but it was awesome and i was speechless. for me that is also 100000000000000000000% not expected lol
