I have never participated in a charity walk. I am interested in doing so to raise money for ALS but the dollar amounts that have to be raised are very intimidating. For those of you who've done it, how did you manage to raise the money? How much effort did you have to put in and would you do it again? Any tips for a newbie?

you ask your friends your parents your relatives your teachers your fellow students your grocery store people anyone that you can go to - tell them what you are doing ask them if they can give you so much per mile walked if you are walking five miles ask for a dollar a mile from each of them don't be surprised more likely you will get a yes rather a no- if they say they cannot do a $1.00 a mile ask them for 50cents if you are not pushy more likely they will give you something

Good luck on your walk Congratulations on your volunteering

I think you raise money by people donating a certain amount of money everytime you do a lap
(thats what we did at our elementry school) But of coarse it's different. You don't put to much effort you just walk
good luck!
Im also doing something for charity!
We should be proud! : D
