okay so my wireless signal on my ps3 is at tops like 75 or 77, and so when i play resistance fall of man online i get bitched at for lagging, and right now when i try to play warhawk online it says "network timeout" and so i cant play that right now, but when warhawk does work no one says anything about me lagging or glitching.

Having a wired connection is not a choice. So if anyone has wireless internet on their ps3, what is your signal strength, and how high does mine need to be to not glitch or lag?

It sounds like it's not your wireless connection but it's your internet bandwidth speed. Call up your Internet Service Provider and ask them how many kbs you're getting. Make sure you have good DSL or Broadband, and make sure you're at least getting a minimum of 500kbs.

Go here and test your download speed- http://speedtest.net/

if your download speed is below 500kbs then your internet speed could be the problem.

I would definatly say its your connection NOT your ps3 your might have a slower connection 256kbps which is enough to play online games but not great for it i have 1.5mbps connection (1500 kbps) which works great so if you can upgrade and afford it i would go with that but if your short on money what can help is if you shut off or disconnect all other computers in the house (and if your really desprate your wired phones but they only use bandwithd when you make a call or one comes in) and then try to move your ps3 around the room as close as you can to ur modem which is less then 5 ft because of the cables connected to your tv but try and get a better signal and also like stated above check your nat type ( you need type 2)and if you need to change it conntact your isp (internet service provider) and they should help you if not contact psn support (1-800-345-7669) oh and i use a wired connection 50ft eathernet cable from my modem to my ps3 its faster than wirless you can get loooooonnnnggg cords at home depot for like $25 i think they where i checked a few months ago cause i was making a lag switch :D

Mine is mostly 3/4 bars (for COD4:MW) sometimes it reaches 4/4. My router is about 50' away from my PS3 (at least thats how long a wire would have to run to reach it) The signal has to navigate around two walls, so I'm not surprised my signal is not perfect.I use a Wireless G Router @ 2.4 GHz (Linksys). The only problems I've had with my connection is sometimes I can get a signal at all, (this also happens for the laptops all around my house simultaneously) so I unplug and re-plug the router and usually that does the trick. Other times (3-4 times) I've logged on started playing and found that when I shot someone, they were like 5 feet away when the bullet wuda hit em and I was like wtf? ...I was lagging, hard!!! I had 1 bar at that time...It was weird cuz everything was going fine, no freezing or skipping but w.e. So I again unplugged and re-plugged my router and It usually fixed it. I also turn off the PS3 when I do this.

Well thats me, hope I helped.

I use wireless internet and I have the same signal you're getting but I have never been disconnected. Make sure you have Media Sharing turned off. Also, check and see if your NAT type is 2 and not 3.

Do you have a high speed internet?

Sounds like a problem inside the ps3 not the internet connection.
