The wii because most games on the PS3 or Xbox 360 are rated M for Mature (17+) while most games on the wii are aimed towards the 7-14 demographic, rated E for Everyone.

Well... I have all those consoles. They are all fun.. Except, for the Wii. The reason I don't like the Wii is because they only make like kid games and stuff. But considering he is a 7 year old, you should go for the Wii. . But if the T.V.isn't big enough, you should go for the X-box 360, because in my opinion, it is way better than PS3. It is up to you, hope I helped

If you want to get a PS3 and be able to play all of your PS2 games, you will need to buy the 80GB version of the Playstation 3 ($499) because the 40GB version ($399) does not play PS2 games. It does, however, play PS1 games.
I would personally recommend the Wii, especially, if you and the rest of the family like to play games. When you buy it, it comes with a copy of Wii Sports, which is a great party or family game, because of the intuitive controls. It has other great easy to learn games such as Wii Play, Big Brain Academy, and many more.
I hope this was of help to you. For a review on Wii Sports, go to this link:

We have all three and really your options should consider yourself , your kid and whats best for the future. THe Wii is awesome and great family fun for everyone.... Madden o7 football is hillarious when your wii is setup for wii connect 24 the game actually duplicates the weather that is currently present in real life and other stuff. The games are for kids your children's current ages and up. Lots of teen games and games for you as well.

PS3 has a large assortment of games for young and old as well and is future proof- Games on 50gig blueray discs.. Your kids won't outgrow it. free online play for you and full entertainment center for the whole family. Get the 60gig US or 80 gig US they both have backward capability to play ps2 games and ps1 games.

360 mostly a shooter game system and most games are made for best playability for online gaming because the system is limiting 8gig dvds. 360 is prone to hardware failures and disc scratching which could cause blame game finger pointing amoung family members even though these are manufacturer defect issues. Too much frustration for a family to enjoy with children those ages. Online gaming on the 360 is filled with fouled mouthed 11 year olds trying to prove they are too cool. Not a good young family system.

going by your preferences I say get a wii next year and save yourself the hassle and stress of trying to find one and get a PS3 for the little tyke for Xmas. Get him/her the 80gb so he/she can play ps3 games and still play 80% of the ps2 and ps1 game library it also comes with a free EXTREMELY fun racing game called motorstorm that will keep him/her very pleased and you can even throw in a game called Ratchet and Clank Future weapons so he/she can also have adventure game. As for yourself you can fill up the 80gb of memory with music ,free demo downloads ,very fun casual games off the PSN store, pictures, movies, etc while at the same time you can browse the internet on your tv for FREE! Watch youtube or go on yahoo answers. Its also the cheapest blue ray player you can get and still plays dvds and cd's. Its is a steal and your child will have this kind of experiance once he/she opens it for Christmas ^_^

40gb:$399 comes with spider man only plays ps1 and ps3

80gb:$499 comes with motorstom and has 80%-90% backwards compatibility

I didn't say the 360 solely because its a mature console that is aimed for the ages of 16-24 and have no games other than viva piniata and serious sports games the rest are all M rated I had one and it broke even had the elite and it RROD(red ring of death) made it inoperable.

wii fo sho. The PS3 is superior to all 3, but for a 7 year old, the wii is the way to go. It you want something for the whole family with a Blu-ray player (cheapest one on the market, in terms of price, not quality) then the PS3 is good, its set for the future and will last for years. But like I said for a 7 year old, he won't appreciate the graphics and spectacular gameplay the PS3, so get him a wii.

i think you should get a ps3. You can play most ps2 games but to make sure you can play your ones you should go onto the ps3 website where it tells you what games it plays. and if you do decide to get a ps3 by the 60gb or 80gb because they can only play ps2 games.

Get a wii, majority of kids his age will love that. the ps3 and 360 might be a little violent unless you monitor his games with all Rated E games.
