Lima beans are delicious, I usually make them with ham, and make soup, and I grew up eating them, sorry folks, this was a real question, and to me and so many people Lima beans are really good!

OMG I love Lima beans!!!!!
BAKED LIMA BEANS
1 1/2 c. dried lima beans
5 c. cold water
4 slices bacon, cut in pieces
1/2 c. diced celery
1/2 onion, chopped
1/4 c. green pepper, chopped
2 tbsp. flour
1 (10 oz.) frozen pkg. lima beans, cooked and drained
1 1/2 c. canned tomatoes
2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 tbsp. sugar
6 tbsp. dark Karo syrup
If using dried lima beans, soak beans in 3 cups water overnight. Add 2 more cups water and boil until tender, about 30 minutes, and drain.
Fry bacon until slightly brown and add celery, onion and pepper. Cook until tender and bacon is crisp. Add flour and stir, then add the rest of the ingredients. Cook until thick. Place beans in greased 2 quart casserole and pour remaining ingredients over top. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Can be made a day ahead and rebaked.

I love lima bean soup.
Saute chopped onion and celery in a pot (with oil) until vegetables are soft. Add about a quart of chicken broth and two cans of lima beans. When the limas are cooked through, and soft, remove from heat. Puree in a blender or with an immersion blender. Add a dash of cream if desired.
Add salt and pepper to taste.

Actually, I've never had lima beans. It seems that everybody hates them though, probably because they are portrayed badly on TV and nobody has tried them yet. Sure, I'll have some with ham!

put them in a bowl
rinse them
when every body leaves the kitchen
throw them in the garbage
explain that you had a horrible lima bean accident
make some cauliflower instead people actually like that veggie

I love lima beans. I just cook them in a pot with water, drain, add butter and salt. I can have just them for a whole meal.

Like Andyg.....I love lima beans. I buy them frozen, heat them good, add butter, salt & pepper. What a good veggie!
