For me this is a three-fold reason. (1) I get to know people for who they are inside not what they look like outside. (2) I get to learn about other faiths and belief systems. and (3) I get to care and sometimes in small ways help other people from time to time.

I don't come to this site regularly.I do have a faith but not a Christian one. There are very many insecure people on this site.Atheists do have a belief, and are mainly very mixed up.like you Debra I too help people from time to time. I am a Spiritualist.

Honestly, many atheists are on this forum. It's
nice to be able to talk with others who share
rational thought and a realistic view of life as it truly is.
A bonus to being on this forum is that maybe, just
maybe, a confused young person will see that it is
okay to think outside the box of brainwashing they
have been living under since childhood.

I enjoy learning and debating. Answering with opinion and fact, and learning of other people's opinions and facts! It's fun, but it's also frustrating that we have such a high level of people that are unwilling to learn from others.
