What jobs do people convert raw materials into energy?

There used to be jobs where people called stokers shoveled coal into steam engines for trains or on ships. Those are long gone and only seen in old movies.

There are still people who are licensed to run power plants (stationary engineers) and they work the controls to turn oil, coal, or gas into energy at those plants.
