We have all three and really your options should consider yourself , your kids and whats best for the future. THe Wii is awesome and great family fun for everyone.... Madden o7 football is hillarious when your wii is setup for wii connect 24 the game actually duplicates the weather that is currently present in real life and other stuff. The games are for kids your children's current ages and up. Lots of teen games and games for you as well.

PS3 has a large assortment of games for young and old as well and is future proof- Games on 50gig blueray discs.. Your kids won't outgrow it. free online play for you and full entertainment center for the whole family.

360 mostly a shooter game system and most games are made for best playability for online gaming because the system is limiting 8gig dvds. 360 is prone to hardware failures and disc scratching which could cause blame game finger pointing amoung family members even though these are manufacturer defect issues. Too much frustration for a family to enjoy with children those ages. Online gaming on the 360 is filled with fouled mouthed 11 year olds trying to prove they are too cool. Not a good young family system.

For your kids, I think that you should get a Wii, and since you like to play video games as well, you should get the PS3.

I own the PS3, and it's simply the most powerful game machine on the market, it's got more features than any of the game consoles as well. The PS3 has great games to choose from and will have the best PS3 exclusive games coming next year.

The PS3 has features like: Blu-ray, Bluetooth, a Web browser, Free Online play, built in WiFi, and backward compatibility with PS1 and PS2 games (20GB, 60GB, 80GB models only).

Plus, the PS3 has the most diversity in it's exclusive game selection. Most of the Xbox 360's major exclusive games are shooters, but the PS3 has exclusive games from every game genre.

The Xbox 360 still has hardware issues and so many Xbox 360's have to be sent in for repair because of overheating problems and the Red Ring of Death. The only reason why people still buy Xbox 360's is for Halo 3. The PS3 has more going for it than one shooter game.

If you can get only one console for Christmas, I think that you should get the PS3. But since the Wii is so cheap, I think that it would be good to get the Wii also.

I agree with D.R.E. if it's not a ps3 get a Xbox 360 for yourself. They are both very good systems but the Xbox 360 has more games and the ps3 has more potential since the blu-ray disc it uses has more space than the regular disc that the Xbox 360 uses (in some cases the blu-ray disc can hold up to 10 times more)

Hmmm. okay Sir to me i would recommend you a PS3 and for the kids a WII. WII is fun and contains no M rated games, while the PS3 does. WII is a good system for people under 16. It has amusing and great games. For PS3 if you let your children play online. They would hear bad words which may provoke them into saying it.

you are better off getting a ps3 because...

- ps3 has a built-in blu-ray player

-ps3 supports 1.3 HDMI which has rich colors and xbox supports 1.2 HDMI

- ps3 has much more and better exclusives, most of them cant go to xbox 360 because it cant handle that many data(DVD- 8.5gb, blu-ray 50gb)

- because of the blu-ray's huge space, ps3 will have WAY better graphics than 360

- online is free for ps3 not like 360

- ps3 will have over 300 games released by this spring

- you can browse the internet on ps3, no such thing for xbox 360

- when developers get used to the system, the graphics will be WAY better than 360. should take them a year to get used to it

- developers stated that they will start using ps3 as the lead platform and port ps3 games to xbox

- playstation home is coming out this spring, its a virtual community where you can hang out with friends and customize your own apartment which xbox doesnt have(FREE)

- ps3 is a true HD console. xbox 360 upscale games to 1080p and ps3 DISPLAY games up to 1080p

- built in Wi-Fi

- xbox 360: 33% hardware failure
ps3: .2% hardware failure(see the decimal? less than 1%!)

- ps3 has better back-comp except the 40gb

- rumble returns in spring 2008

- you can upgrade your harddrive without voiding warranties with any 2.5 HDD, which xbox cant because you have to buy a xbox HDD
(they actually have the step by step on how to upgrade it on playstation.com)

those are the ones that i know right off my mind but there are much more reason than this

Now I want you to do me a favor, list all the reasons why xbox is better than ps3. I PROMISE you that nobody will get at least 5 reasons

Prices as of today:
ps3- 80gb: $499 with motorstorm
40gb: $399 with spiderman 3 blu-ray
xbox 360(premium)- $349
(elite)- $449
if you want the accessories that ps3 comes with, that would add up to over 700 dollars, so that means ps3 is actually cheaper

Those kids are pretty young, a PS3 is the last thing I'd consider.

A 360 is just so-so for your household because most of its library is still geared towards teenage males or adults. MS is trying to woo the younger and casual crowds more with their downloadable arcade titles, but in all honestly, it is still inferior to what you can get on the Wii.

The Wii library is unbelievably robust and large for an one year old console, and has a lot of casual games, games for younger audiences, and edutainment titles too. Their list of mature games is smaller than 360, but many of them get glowing reviews.

Wii remote also SO MUCH MORE FUN than a traditional button-covered controller.

I'd point you toward a Wii, but you should know that they are getting scarce for the holidays.

Good luck!
