I'm gonna tell you what I have to keep telling my 10 yr old daughter. It is NOT your responsibility to take care of the adults in your life. It's your responsibility to do what's best for you. I can understand not wanting to talk to a counselor, but when I was 16 I lost a close friend to suicide and then another in a car accident and my parents forced me to see a counselor. (not a shrink, just a counselor) and it was the best thing that they could have done. I'm 32 and still go back to coping methods that she taught me 16 years ago. As far as what's going on in your life, holy crap! That's ALOT! Don't down play your life, or your emotions. If your dead set against a couselor then you have to find a trust worthy adult to talk to. Friends are good, but you need a sensible adult. Your mom? Your step mom? Who would know better what your going through then them? Maybe one of your moms friends? Someone who loves you. But you need to talk to someone.

maybe try talking with your school counselor, hon.

you don't have to be "strong" for your mom, stepmom or anyone else.. just be YOU.. and if you have feelings and thoughts and worries, well let them out and talk....cry if you want... it's OK.

we all NEED people to talk with and a way to express our feelings... it's OK to do so.

sending hugs....
