Our four-month-old puppy is afraid of his reflection in our black glass front stove. I have covered the stove front with aluminum foil, dull side out, for now. Is there anything I can do to condition him or will he outgrow it in time?

Thanks!

He will learn over time that it isn't anything to be scared of but if you baby him over it he will continue because you are in his eyes praising him for that behavior.

Don't accommodate the dogs fear by covering the stove. Show him that his reflection is not going to get him and praise him when he doesnt run. And do reinforce his fear by petting him

He'll outgrow it and any time he see's his reflextion let him know it's okay. Kneel or bend down with him and stroke the appliance still with him being told it's okay. You can do the same thing with mirrors, storm doors, etc.

He should out grow it, but I would sit with him in front of a mirrow, talk to him, touch the mirror etc, get him use to it calmly so he knows it wont hurt him.

My dog was like that to, but if you let him look his reflection, reassure him that it is okay and won't hurt him, and if that doesn't work just give it some time and he will out grow it
