Nirvana is a state of enlightenment free from the array of negative human emotions which abound within the mind. Heaven is a place where born again christians go when they die. It is a utopia.

The individual definition of Nirvana will vary from culture to culture.

The main differance is that Nirvana is a state of mind while still in physical form. While Heaven is a place "some" go after death

I'm hearing nirvana for the first time and have no idea what it means, but i know heaven is the abode of God.
It is also used to refer to the place God has reserved for those who have a relationship with Him. Anyone who dies in sin WILL NOT enter into heaven. (But nothing that is impure will enter the city[heaven], nor anyone who does shameful things or tells lies. Only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of the living will enter the city - Rev. 21 vs 27)

Nirvana is fake - and heaven is real. I prefer to know that I will enter heaven after I die, not because I deserve to be there, or have lived a lot of lives before I reach "nirvana" - because heaven means that God loved me enough to make a way for me to enter heaven- through the shed blood of Christ.

Nirvana is somewhat a state of perfection only while Heaven is some kind of a 'place' where holy people enjoy eternity with God.

Nirvana is something someone dreamed up to feel good about. Heaven is real and where all true believers in Jesus Christ will go to. God says so.

Nirvana : The ineffable ultimate in which one has attained disinterested wisdom and compassion, hence exiting from the cycle of rebirth.

Heaven : the abode of God, the angels, and the spirits of the righteous after death; the place or state of existence of the blessed after the mortal life.

So .... what is the similarity that promote you to look for the difference?

Nirvana is being in a state of complete nothingness. Heaven is peace, paradise and complete state of fulfillment.

I don't think there is much difference myself. I think each is when someone gets to such a state where they merge with God completely. Though it could be argued that heaven is another plane of existence. Either way I assume one would escape rebirth.
