Most government agencies do. Also alot of in home nursing agencies, schools and things of that sort. Mainstream corporate America won't spend that kind of money though.

Ok this is the answer.
Short answer yes, most do.
Long Answer,
It depends in what field you are in. For example if you are going to be working with kids, say education, daycare, doctor, therapist, etc you most likely will need one. I work as a therapist(behavioral therapy, talk therapy, play therapy, etc)
and I needed one for my company. Yes in this post 9-11 culture alot of companies do. You can bet if you have a government federal or state job you will be needing one. Even local government such as county and town/city level.
Now if you are working for a grocery store or a very small business they might not require want. But no one will depend this simple fact, nooo one. Its safe to say that more and more jobs are requiring checks and time goes on not less.

The only job I've ever been fingerprinted for was working for California Public Schools. This is a very expensive procedure and I don't think it is widespread policy.

Expunged information will truthfully in no way be expunged from governmental databases, such LEADS or NCIC. An expunged checklist is purely not obtainable to the first public. What this implies is that any private enterprise accomplishing heritage checks who purely seek for criminal information by using the county courthouse, would be unable to locate this checklist. appropriate to the retired deputy, you at the instant are not particular in terms of pay web sites. mutually as I trust you that instant databases are stuffed with holes, if a valid heritage screening enterprise conducts a suitable seek, they actually stumble on criminal information. Please do not presume that because of the fact you have been a cop, you recognize each and every thing.
