I have to disagree with the previous answers as Villa Pamphili is *not* outside of Rome, unless you mean "outside of the walls" of the ancient town...
I think the park you referr is either Villa Gregoriana or Villa d'Este in Tivoli, some 40 km west of Rome.

It's the park of Villa Doria Pamphili, along the Appia Antica.
