This is where the Christmas tree originated from. It's a Pagan thing. I am a Christian and choose not to put up a tree because what the Bible says about it.

Jeremiah 10:2 KJV Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. 3* For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. 4* They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not. 5 They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.

I know people say they don't worship the tree so it's ok but to me it clearly states we should not do it.

A lot of Christians pick and choose what they want to believe and follow even though it goes against what God says. I am guilty of this too but I try my best to follow Gods word.

All religions do not believe in christmas trees. Christmas has now become a commercialized holiday. It use to be a memory of Jesus's birth (though he's not born on christmas day) but throughout the years, it'd just became a gift giving/recieving holiday. the gifts, trees, and lights has nothing to do with religion. It has only become part of HUMAN culture and traditions.

It is only the Roman Ctholic Religion tht believe the said christimas celebration as the birth of Jesus and the christmas tree as decoration during christmas time for the catholics. There is no truth about it. The catholics have misguided many people in the world for such celebratiomn.

You mean the idea of decorating a tree with lights which actually originated from Pagan celebrations of Winter Solstice (Yule)?

I am putting up my Yule tree tomorrow night! :)

Edit: I use either a fake tree, or a small real potted tree that I will then care for until spring when I find a nice spot outdoors to plant it. I can't bring myself to cut down a live tree just to display with decorations for a few weeks.

Might be easier to ask what religions promote the Christmas tree properly:

the answer would be a lot of forms of paganism and Heathenism.

We don't have to believe in Christmas Trees, do we see them, I believe in The Lord, and having a Christmas tree is nice, it celebrates Christmas. We celebrate Jesus Christs birth although, no one has came up with exactly when, it is a time when we should celebrate our Saviors Birth.

Some people think the trees are beautiful where they are growing instead of bringing them into the house and allowing them to die a slow death with colored balls on their branches.

Remember what Joyce Kilmer once said

"I think that I shall never see
a poem lovely as a tree

peace

I can think of several instances where people would not want a christmas tree. First, if people aren't christian, they are not likely to want a tree (Jewish people, Muslim people, Atheists). Secondly, I'm sure some christian variations do not want trees (Jehova's Witnesses and probably others).

I do not put up a tree and have no desire to do so.
