As someone on here once said, "They say "love is blind"...it is also deaf, dumb, and has a learning disability." LOL. =D
I guess I agree with that, (I don't really know first hand, I don't allow myself to form romantic attachments to people, I had a crush on a guy for about a year when I was 12 but that's it. *laughs*) I've seen what trouble "love" has gotten people into, like my cousins for example. It's not a true love, it's either flaky or "one-sided" love, where the guy treats them like crap but they're still hopelessly devoted because he says, "I'll change!" or, "I love you." It's bullcrap. I'm 16, and I know that I'm not really old enough yet for "relationships" and the like, how often do they last when you're that young? Hardly ever. So why waste my time worrying about some guy when chances are we won't stay together anyway? Meh, it just seems kind of pointless. That's my 2 cents anyway. (I bet I'm going to get some thumbs down. *laughs*) When the time does come for me to marry, I don't want "good looks", I want a best friend....

I think the love is a institution part is...cause u always learn somethin new...But as far as it bein blind i dont know..I think it means, u dont get to choose who u love..u go at it blind and jus stumble into love..the problem is society has taken the institution part away, with the intro. of divorce..now people dont stick at no matter what..And in my opinion your first love is always your true love, u jus break up or move on because somethin happend during ur relationship that society has put u in a position that u feel u cant forgive that person..so you end it, and possibly start another relationship..but nothin will ever work because wethere u admit or not u compare that person to your first. At one point in time, this was true, but unfortunately for us in the 21st century, its as true as no rascism, and santa..People pick who the love now...Whether it be for stability, good sex, fame, etc...very few allow themselves to love someone without lookin at what they are first...

Nope. Men are visual creatures. Men fall in love with their eyes and women fall in love with their ears. It takes a pretty special guy to fall in love without considering looks. I used to be like that but then I found out that the unattractive ones were just as bad and problematic as the attractive ones, so might as well go for the good-looking ones!

I think it is blind, because there's a sort of absolute commitment that makes it real. Shakespeare says that real love cannot be changed (in whatever words he uses) and I think the heart wants to see only positive when in love.

Love is love. It is neither blind or envisioned. It is what it does to us that leads us to believe that love is blind.
Using our brains, we think logically, but when you throw in love, logic is put aside and we think with our hearts. This goes against our natural state and leads us to do things we would not normally do. The brain fails to understand this beautiful concept.
