Look at the Savage 25.06. I have a model 110 and it shoots great. The wood isn't as pretty as some of my other rifles but as far as reliability and accuracy, I couldn't ask for more. You can even get a package from Savage where the gun comes with a scope already mounted. The price will vary from area to area but it's one of the best deals out there.

Gobert covered this one, a Savage has "the best painted stocks in the industry" as the saying goes. This due to the older models but now they have come a long way. I have a Fiberglass/Kevlar stocked .300 mag that shoots so well that I've qualified with it for the SRT's. It has out shot my FTO's Styer SSG Sniper rifle numerous times. You can't beat the .25-06 for general hunting from prairie dogs to deer and in the hands of a good marksman, Elk. The other option would be a Weatherby Vanguard in the same caliber. Walmart is a good choice for either weapon. FYI, I have a .223 Vanguard that is bone stock and with Black Hills "white box" ammo shoots 2.5" 5 shot groups at 500yds.

I have no idea what Dick's is getting for it but I would recommend that you get a Savage bolt action rifle. Savage is noted for making a very accurate rifle at a very reasonable price. Check Bass Pro Shops and Cabella's to see what they are getting for it. Their prices should be fairly comparable.

Depends on what your definition of cheap is. Do you want to buy brand new or used? If ya want a cheap rifle of what your looking for then try a pawn shop you can find great deals there as well don't rule that out.

There is no such thing as good and cheap.
