Isn't this a place for mature, intelligent, respectful dialogue about our beliefs amongst adults?
What does name calling accomplish?

Amen sister there is enough hurt and negativity in this world without contributing more. I was named called and teased all through school and as a result my emotions were bruised and damaged I spend 2 years in therapy in high school to undo the damage and hurt and verbal abuse that was heaped on me.
I compliment and encourage others I look for the good in others no matter how small or I would be miserable.
Thank you for being bold in the Lord and posting something that we all could learn from.
PS thank you for what you wrote on my 360 your kindness and encouragement mean so much to me Here are some hugs for youoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooe4g

People act as if it expresses their wittiness and intelligence. The truth is that it shows quite the opposite. Ignorance is their basis of function and insecure about who they are on the inside and their own beliefs makes them try to be witty in their own mind.
It is sad that people have to be simple minded and without respect for others that are different in any aspect. I was once a name caller as a boy, I have now grown up to realize that I can function with respect and decency to others no matter what attitude they bring at me.
I think that is when loving everyone starts when you can respect everyone.

My experience has been that name calling is the last line of defense when the person has all but capitulated within the argument. Accomplishes nothing but ill feelings, successfully I might add.
Kind of like the mouse giving the Hawk the "finger" just as he swoops down to pick him up for lunch. This is what I at least refer to name calling as.
Best to you Dr. G.
Great question.

They have no higher quality argument to offer so they result to common petty insults - a sure sign of ignorance, immaturity, insecurity and an inability to put forth their argument in a mature, sensible way through respect and intelligent dialogue.

"Isn't this a place for mature, intelligent, respectful dialogue... "
ROTFL!!!
Seriously? You must be new here?
Name calling accomplishes nothing but is the reason that at least 50% (if not more) of the people who post are here.

THey are so wrapped up in their on little world.. ..and its like its their way or no way.. and if it upsets them they resort to the next level... name callin..I have seen it.I know.. and its so immature of them to do this. I just set back and laugh at how dumb and stupid for grown adults to act like a 10 yr .. old. Doesnt accomplish a thing.. just makes them stupid in the long run.

No one gets punched in the head if they carry on in this way so the cowardly can do as they please. Water off a ducks back once the lowest common denominator is reached I suppose, sad but true.

People resort to name calling and sarcasm when they run out of reasonable constructive arguments.

I think people that resort to name calling are just insecure about themselves and somehow they think that makes them feel big and important to belittle someone else.
