We have had two presidents: Herbert Hoover was a civil engineer with very conservative politics and Jimmy Carter was a mechanical engineer with liberal politics.

Both were very unpopular and lost their runs for re-election.

When I was in school ,, a long time ago I had a very influential professor from Korea...His ways were odd to me but his constant reminder was that no Engineer should be without a level of quality in his training that did not allow for the ARTS...His lectures were more like addresses his characterization of equations and operations like prose.. He was as I would say it a very well rounded Philosopher indeed. Its a shame that in training today the ability to solve a problem is overshadowed by the ability to explain to ones counterparts that you have done so...I for one do know this ,,a President/Engineer would be someone who would be open to the facts and as a person would probably give us the facts.. Iterated and starred...However a President /Engineer and a politician would more than likely follow in the steps of all the other Politicians we have had in the last 40years bending truth to fit the moment and sidestepping blame for anything except the solution to global hunger....So as gloomy as I painted this picture I would hope that, as someone who lives this craft , you might know that there are some problems Engineers cannot work out. AS well as some Engineers who are to confused to know what the problem is...From the E...
