About five years ago as I was getting off a commuter train in Grand Central Terminal in New York City, I saw a curious train. It had a standard Metro-North engine, but there were only two cars connected to it. The first car was decked out with several offices: leather interior, wooden desks, wall-to-wall carpeting. The second car was more of a bar / reception area. Both cars had the seal of the President of the United States. I was guessing that when Bill and Hillary Clinton were living in Westchester County, New York, that was the train Bill took to go to work in Manhattan. Does anyone know where I can find more about this train or know where I can find pictures of this? I have searched the Internet and I can't find anything.

My friend, I think I know what you're talking about. The train you saw is probably an old presidential train used by FDR and MacArthur among other in the days before Air Forced One. The train was stationed at a siding near the The Waldorf-Astoria Hotel that is not use by other trains. After the president began flying on AFO, the train was retired and pulled from service. Somehow, MNRR decided to bring this train back into service only when the C and C is in town.
