Rathskeller. Keller = Cellar. In Nurnberg there is a very famous bar, 1 level below ground, known as "Nassauer Keller". There has been a pub/restaurant there since the 1200's.
Pilsstube or just plain Stube
Biergarten (not really a saloon, but literally an outdoor area with tables)
Gasthaus
Even just Bar. - also in Nurnberg, there is a place called "Bar Fußer"

A good guess would be rathskeller, since very many bars and pubs in the US use that name. The bar at the university I attended in the 70s was called that (The Rat, for short, also quite common). That was when drinking on campus was more than condoned.
