Well I remember when I had growing pains I usually felt it mostly at night, and sometimes it woke me up. It usually comes and goes and doesn't stay too long. Sometimes it was so bad I'd get up in the middle of the night and watch Nick At Night with my mom. I'd say if it lasts more than a month or so or if it is continuous check with the doctor.

(th pains I felt was always in my legs.)

When I was 12, I realized that I was having 2 different types of pains in my legs. My mom put it down to growing pains. I know now that I've had arthritis in my knees. It almost always occurred when the weather was changing (barometric pressure) and it was cold (we lived in Indiana). It differed from growing pains because it felt like it was cold inside my bones and if I could just warm it up enough, it would quit hurting.

I would probably make an appointment for your daughter since she's complaining of back pain. Since most of us only ever got growing pains in our legs, I would be concerned that this is something else in any case. But don't worry until AFTER the doc gives you a reason to worry!!! Its bad for YOUR health!

Good Luck!

My sons growing pains are mostly in the joints but when it comes to this it is best to see a doctor to be sure. You don't want to regret not going any earlier if it is not growing pains

Growing pains are usually intermittent, and most often at night.
