Quality. The clarity and reliability of Leupold optics are well known. Close tolerances, coated lenses, the ability to handle recoil, etc. add up to a great product. Like others have said, you get what you pay for. I'm always amazed by people who buy an expensive gun and put a $30 scope on it. The gun will only be as good as the optics.

Hey! Leupolds use high-quality materials in the construction of their optics. They are considered the top of the line in optics. However, I have a bunch of experience with scopes, and Nikon has the same quality with the same high-quality materials, but with a more reasonable price. If you are limited on funds, I really suggest a Bushnell Elite series or a Nikon. But if you are willing to spend the money for a Leupold, I say go for it! They are excellent scopes.

Leupold optics are very superior in the class of scopes. Very clear sight picture and deadly accurate when sighted right on the right fire arm. To put it lightly ya get what ya pay for. I speak from experience because I have a Leupold scope on my .243 Winchester rifle killed 2 deer with it this year at 150+ yards.

Leupold value is actually very good. Quality costs, and they're only slightly more expensive than the optics the next level down. On the other hand, a slight extra level up will cost you a huge bundle extra.

I have Leupold scopes on most (all but 1) of my rifles. They're not "so much", they're an excellent dollar value.

As compared to cheaper brand scopes they have better clarity, light gathering, and eye relief. Pick up a $75 scope and you'll see the difference. I have been spoiled and can never go back to "Wal-Mart specials".

The simple rule is to put as much money into your optics as you would your weapon. I have several Leopold's and love them. If you want to spend less then fine but remember you could go up to a Swarovski or Kahles and they are better but you'll spend 3-7 times as much.

Because its not what you pay for something that matters, its what you get for what you pay.* It is one of the best scopes available.*
