I've been told mulitple things. 1: Don't pop them, they will scar your face or wherever they are. 2: Only pop them when they are ready and thoroughly clean them out, but after this do not continue to pick at them because, THEN you will come out with scars. What is true and what should i do for easy zit removal and quick skin recovery?

It can, but not always. To effectively pop a zit...

1) Make sure that the zit is not too new to be popped. If it is, it increases the risk of scarring and it may not be "ripe" enough to pop yet.
2) Wet a wash cloth with warm water and apply to the zit for a few minutes before attempting to pop it.
3) Pop it only with your fingertips, NOT your fingernails (unless you want a scar).
4) If it won't pop after two or three attempts, don't continue to try. It may bruise the area, worsening the zit.
5) If it pops, clean the area with a gentle cleanser containing salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. If it stings, apply the warm cloth again for a moment.

Best of luck!

Laurie

Yes, popping pimples will spread the acne (and make it worse) and cause scarring. Acne scars are the worst because there's really no effective way to get rid of them once they happen.

Right now my skin is perfectly clear, for the first time in 3 years. It's been about 9 weeks and all my acne is gone. It is such a great feeling to wake up with clear skin.

I used to apply Neosporin after doing something like that. It'll keep it clean and help prevent scarring. But yes, you don't want to keep picking at it, just do it once, typcially, and let it heal
