It will hurt your credit unless you request they delete upon payment.

An updated to paid negative is still a negative.
When you pay, they will update the account to show the payment. When the account is updated it will "look" newer than it actually is.
With only one positive account, you don't have a strong enough credit file to keep it from hurting.

Your best option is to request that they delete if you pay. Most collection agencies will agree if that means they will get paid. Most original creditors will not agree, though a small few will.

It will help, but it won't completely erase the negative.
