yes painting over a color is alway bad after a time period of about 2 years the two colors start to clash or blend and it just makes for a bad combo so just buy a car with the color u like or u could paint it over with a non-iron based paint that would make the colors not clash as fast and tuch it up every 12 months to make sure its lookin sharp!

If you change the color from white to blue there is a lot of metal you don't see that you will see anytime you open the door, hatch, or hood. I agree white is a boring color, "refrigerator white" as my wife says. Try breaking up the expanse of white with small graphics/pinstripes, it will work wonders for a lot of vehicles. A friend of mine had a tree fall on the hood and front fenders of his white Ford Ranger pickup, a red front clip was all he could find on short notice and we installed the clip one Saturday. Needless to say it looked strange, so he buffed out the clip and sanded the doors (original white) then painted several cone shaped designs on the doors the same color as the clip ending the point of the cones near the trailing edge of the door. Made it look totally different! Big change with little money.

get it re-painted. if you bring it to a painter he will wet sand the whole car down and it will take the old color off. dont listen to the above posts because if you get the old color wet sanded off before its painted, you will have no problem with the 2 paints blending together.

the original color is the best because that way if you change it, and you dont like it you'll keep having to paint it over and over again.
