I'm getting a pricey eye exam, so I need a break on the lenses and frames! Has anyone odered this type of prescription online? How were your results? Good glasses & vision? Or was it a horrible mistake?

Getting proper measurements and fit is essential for this type of lens. If you have complete confidence in your ability to do this for yourself, some online eyeglass sellers will walk you through the process. But if you screw up, the responsibility is yours.

Seems risky to me, and potentially more expensive if you make a mistake.

If good vision and comfort aren't important to you, then by all means, order online.

If you think you know enough about what type or style or size of frame will fit you best , then go ahead.

If you believe important, precise measurements can be done by some guy who has never seen the frame on you to get the trifocal placement right, then go ahead.

If you buy your shoes in second hand stores, and your suits at the Salvation army , then online glasses would fit right in.

I'm not just saying this because I'm an optician, it just makes common sense.

It is a horrible mistake becuase you can not get proper measurements and therefore you can not get good glasses made. Plus who adjusts them for you? The office you refused to pay in order to do their job? BAD!
