Haha...

Maybe you should look up the etiology of the word "holiday."

Although I have nothing against the idea.

Naw we don't need a Holiday.. What would be nice though... Being treated like we belong in this country.. Like people used to treat me when I was a christian...

P.S.
Peter Priesthood (LDS), I did google April 1st. It is not an Atheist Holiday (as we all, already knew). Maybe you should google it.. Try http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/APRIL_FOOLS_DAY
and next time do a little research.

In America we do it's called The Fourth of July
"Governments are instituted among Men deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed"
In a few short words the concept of the divine right of kings was null and void in America.
Future president would not be required to adopt the defender of the faith role before they could rule
While the Deist Jefferson believed in a supreme being he also believed that that being was inferior to Nature
"to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them "
It's pretty obvious from reading that how Jefferson viewed the cosmic nature of things

BTW -the capitalization's are Jefferson's

first you'll need to find some Americans to honor HEY OHHH

seriously, no. you can't say "we're not a religion, we're the lack of a belief" and have a holiday. that would make you one of us. on second thought... :-)

perhaps a "mutual respect day" instead, as proposed by Hugh W

5 hours left!

Great idea.

Problem is, the list is so long and so jammed packed with brilliant Americans that made huge contributions, the very discolosure of the list would make religionists feel too insecure.

sure why not..they get to take off work on other religious
holidays, and days the dont believe in...but then being
atheists (not me)..every day is a holiday...wait..isnt the word ''holiday'' symbolic of religion ???..wikapedia says
it derives from 2 words..''holy'' and ''day''..something atheists dont believe in...so i guess they cant have a holiday for atheists...
