She told me it's ok to wear jeans (as long as they weren't all torn up) to an interview for a high school. I want to be a student there, not a teacher.. so I guess they'll realize that I'm a teenager. But are nice jeans (with a formal top that looks cute with jeans) ok for interviews?

Too many young people today have the attitude that proper manners and appropriate behavior for the occasion at hand is not particularly important, and after all requires effort and self dicipline Unfortunately they are not generally taught the importance at home either. Graciousness, manners, proper etiquette, sound speaking skills, posture, appropriate attire are free. Why not put them to good use on your own behalf? To answer your question about your interview, I'm assuming it's a private school if they require one. That means that there are only so many openings for new students. Lets say there is only one opening left. Who do you think will be awarded the placement; you in the jeans and top, or another applicant who does everything she/he can to make a good impression, including wearing a nice dress or suit? Who will they perceive as the most serious about being admitted to the school? You have nothing to lose by presenting your best.

Nope never, not if you have a decent pair of slacks or a skirt that is longer or as long as your knees. It's a cliche, but you never get another chance to make a first impression, and as a person who has gotten into some tough programs, ALWAYS DRESS and LOOK YOUR BEST.

How would you feel if you worked at school and put you life's work into making it into a great place, and someone showed up in jeans. You need to display the professionalism these people are portraying even if it is at the highschool level. These people will be writing your letters of recommendation one day, don't let a stupid pair of jeans let that be the reason they look at you differently.

I have never heard of an interview to go to high school. It would depend on the school. Is it a normal high school where the kids wear jeans or do they have uniforms? If they wear jeans I would wear them but look nice. It they don't, I would wear slacks or a skirt. If it were for a job then no jeans would not be appropriate.

For a high school interview, yes. As long as the jeans aren't ripped or dirty, don't have a lot of designs on the pockets or anything, and aren't too tight. Your belly button should never show. Pair the jeans with a nice top, though, and don't wear tennis shoes.
Then again, it does depend on the school itself. If you can, look into its out-of-uniform policy (if there's no uniform look into the basic dress code) don't violate any of the out of uniform rules and you should be fine.
Just try to look your best and be comfortable.
