Personally, I don't think so.

Many Christians, and members of other faiths, are rather against the Harry Potter series, or any other books that tell tales of wizardry, witchcraft, magic, etc.

But then, the same people that are against such narratives, turn around and live their lives complying with the guidelines set forth by a book that tells of magically moving water, multiplying objects... all of the same sort which they had previously forbidden.

To me, it simply doesn't add up.

Regardless, I personally see nothing wrong with the Harry Potter series. In fact, I know many kids that will ONLY read those books, because the other, rather boring, novels with which they are supplied, simply don't hold their imagination as well as the narratives of J.K. Rowling.

It is, of course, fiction, and children should be encouraged to realize that it's just "make-believe," then again, I feel the same way about the Bible.

I say, there's nothing wrong with it. I know not everyone feels this way, though, and I've accepted that.

Reading the new Harry Potter book. I have the book for the movie coming out, so I know what happens. Besides, the movie will be nothing like the book. The 7th and final book will answer all questions that I have in my head right now, so I am just SO excited for it! HP Rules!

Nah... but the good spirits like to chill at my place when I put one of the movies on. I make them popcorn.

I once looked at my brother and asked:

Excuse me, are you the imprint of a departed soul?

But six years of magical instruction have not ben wasted on me, ghosts are transparent.

Not that I know of. You could even consider them pre-Christmas movies, since they celebrate Christmas.

Yeah....I was reading Deathly Hallows and there was this ghost and he was like "hey...can I read it now?" and I said "No! I'm not done!" and he went all poltergeist and ripped up the book and I said to him "Good going, now neither of us can read it AND I'M OUT OF $20!!!!!!!"

Then I went to my room and cried....he's never been back...

WHAT?!?! Simply having, seeing, or reading a book will not summon evil. That's just ridiculous!

Of course not! The movie "Honeymoon in Vegas" won't bring hookers to your home, nor will "Rocky" bring prize fighters stampeding through your kitchen.

Cool movies!
