My husband lost his grandmother to cancer. What was really sad was that she went in to the hospital in early july complaining of severe body aches. It was believed it was a tumor in her kidney. Turns out it was cancer that was already spread throughout her body they said it was no longer possible to give her chemotherapy and it would be a matter of months. She was sent home and told to live a happy life. I remember we were visiting her everyday because her family was and still is soo closely knit. She ended up passing alot sooner than what we were told. She passed just about 2 and a half weeks later. It was a terrible experience to watch her be in pain. But in the end everybody was just so happy that she lived a happy life to the fullest.

My mother died of colon cancer. That was not the cause of death originally written on the death certificate and I learned this only recently when I had to provide a copy of the certificate to a company. She was in great pain for about a year prior to her death and had seen doctors, but nobody diagnosed it as cancer.

I lost my parents and husband to cancer. It is very tough. Find people you are comfortable with to talk to about your feelings. If you have a problem doing this consider a support group. It helps.

Lost my mom in 1996 to kidney cancer that spread to her brain. It was 4 months from diagnosis to death. It was awful. Nothing we could do would stop it.
