I'm not an expert and can only compare the image with those of the breast cancer that has settled into my lungs. My x-rays showed more opaqueness so the cloudy image in the image you posted might not be a late stage. The size of the cloud though, may be a more deciding factor, and it does look rather large. The x-rays of my lungs show the opaque spots gradually getting clearer as the treatment continues to shrink everything.

Anyhow, it takes a pro to recognize lung cancer in an x-ray unless it is in an advanced stage. I have seen numerous x-rays of lung cancer, and i can never spot the problems until the doc points them out, and then they are obvious, but I could never do this on my own.

the fact that this lung cancer has even shown up in a xray suggests its a little past its early stage
