I Was gonna get my brother a ps3 game for christmas any body got any suggestions about whats good he's only just got it so he just has the Simpsons, Tony Hawks and some rally game

Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare for sure if he like shooters (fps).

Resistance Fall of Man is really good, it is one of the more popular games for the PS3, so that would be a good choice.
Assassins Creed would also be a good. It was one of the most hyped games this year, and it is pretty awesome, so you also have a safe choice there.
There also are the racing games like Motorstorm (big title for the PS3), Ridge Racer 7, and Need for Speed Pro Street which are always fun.

The graphics in Ratchet and Clank are phenomenal, just the same with Gran Tourismo. Although Need for Speed: Pro Street is a brilliant addition to its series of games. But if you're looking for game play, it may be worthwhile waiting a little longer as there is a huge lineup of much-awaited title to be released in 2008.

Assassin's creed is probably the best at the moment
other good games are - oblivion, call of duty 4, motor storm, virtual tennis 3

COD4 is THE best game out at the moment, then there is assassins creed, HAZE, Tekken 6, kane and lynch, take a look at http://www.ps3offer.co.uk they have game trailers for the games above, they all look amazing but it might help you decide!
