People don't have to only serve their own interests. So, yes they are free.

Yes. That's the nature of the beast. In a nut shell. Free will means its all about me. I stand at the center of my universe. Do you see what I have written here. Society thinks selfishly. Society tends to put their own personal interest above all else. But in they end, they can't say they weren't warned. Free will also means you can't shift the blame for your errors. Like the old saying goes, you made your bed, now sleep in it.
This was not addressed to you but to the question.

Real Christians don't serve their own interests they serve God's interests. Proverbs says "who can know the wickedness of the heart?" which means that even when people think they are serving God, many times they are still serving themselves.

That is free will. You have choices to make every waking moment of every day. If you continuously chose to do self-serving things then that is your choice. But no one will like you :).

There is only "The WILL". What everyone is calling free-will is the choice between "Knowing" The Will or not!

Actually, you are truly free when you WILLINGLY do nothing for yourself for the sake of love itself.
