Your daughter might be having the flu. If she's hot to touch; it might be the fever. the fever would also make her feel cold. But it's a good sign that she has the fever, that means her own immune system is fighting to thwart off the infection. Her runny nose might be due to her sinus congestion. This in turn gives her the headaches and the dizziness. Her generalized state of not feeling well or generalized malaise or achy all over might account for her crying.

This infection might be bacterial or viral nature. If it's bacterial; the doctors can give her antibiotics to clear it up. However, there's no treatment for viral infection. You just have to let this run its course. It might take two weeks before she feels better.

In the meantime, you can treat her symptomatically. Ibuprofen or Motrin for her fever, headaches and sore throats. Sore throat lozenges for her sore throat. Antihistaminics for her sinus congestion and runny nose. A lot of warm chicken soups would really help Keep her nice and warm in a warm bedroom. Give her lots of Vitamin C to fortify her system.

The number one priority of the treatment plan should be rest and sleep and fluids ( lots of it). If the doctor asks what do you want me to do; reply, I want you to treat my daughter. Request from him to order a blood culture and sensitivity (BC and C&S) They 'll do a bloodtest to identify the bug and narrow down the antibiotic specific to eradicate this bug.

Go to another doctor.

Sounds like the flu. Monitor her temperature, keep giving her lots of fluids (pedialite), keep her warm. If her temperature goes above 103, then try to bring it down. If it is over 103 for longer than 1/2 hour, get her to the emergency room. Keep a notebook of what's going on. Write down the complaints, time and what you give her. Write down her temperature, too. Keep track of everything. If you end up needing the hospital, it's best to have a record of what's going on with her.

I think you're okay, though. It's really tough on the mom's who have to sit there and watch their baby cry!
