You're already shooting a .22 and a .410? Sound like you're ready for the .243 Winchester. It will be a little louder but the recoil is no worse than the .410's.

Good luck.

You are good to go, anytime you are ready.* The 243 has a very mild recoil when fired.* Remember Breathe, Relax, Aim, Squeeze, Fire...**

For what? It's only good for varmints @ 300 yds. If you want something in the 308 family that's more versatile, get a 7mm-08 Rem or a 260 Rem. Neither of them recoil much and you'll get more use out of them.

sure you are ready.

Really how can some cartoon face tell you if you are ready to shoot a certain gun?

That is for you to dertermin when you are ready. I was shooting a 30-06 when I was 8 years old. I was also shooting it off of a bench.

Sure, if your firing a shotgun, the .243 has less kick than the shotgun....
