I'm not a good speaker at all. Even just thinking of doing a formal speach makes my heartbeat fast. It is sad I never had better chance to develop this skill. However, I could compose a good speach very easily. I don't want to be a disaster. My daughter said it is Ok for her.

By all means, do a recording. If your daughter doesn't mind, that's all that matters. A recorded speech might be better received if you talk over softly-played, appropriate music. Just a thought.

It would probably be okay, but it really won't be as good as a live presentation. Even with the emotional tension, you're better off reading the speech. Much can be forgiven to a sincere effort. You can confess how nervous you are. People will understand. You can practice tension relieving exercises. Your audience is human just like you. They listen one at a time. They have no way to compare notes about your delivery. It's about your daughter anyway, not you. Many of them have daughters themselves. Talk to one person in the audience, just one. The rest aren't there.

You'll do fine.

Depending on how much time you have, Toastmasters is a good way to learn public speaking. Other than that, just practice saying it. I think a live speech is better. Of course, the decision is up to you.

If it's okay with her, then go ahead. Fear of public speaking is fairly common, so hopefully, everyone will understand.
