i'm having a really hard time coping with death. just imagine, one moment you're alive, the next you are going somewhere unknown, like an abyss! but what i believe, is that there is a creative power, nothing creates itself, and there's a second step to life. but i just don't know. Jesus was seen by millions of people when he resurrected. so i believe we do go somewhere. maybe we live a second life? give me your opinion!

see, i've been doing some studying, and what comes to my beliefs, that God would NEVER, EVER, EVER let a soul be tormented and torchered for the rest of eternity. just, the really bad people, like murdereres, would just feel EXREMELY guilty, and be faced to the consiquences of the victims he has claimed. but, another thing too, some naughty people will not go to the second step, except remain on earth until found Christ.

There is according to many an afterlife where we are connected with all those who love us and we love them. We enter a tunnel and travel toward the Light. This is a place of peace and comfort as experienced by many who have had a near death event.
In time there will be a judgment period when it will be decided
whether we continue on or face death as a permanent solution to our existence.
Like the Beatles song says...." we all shine on like the moon, stars and the sun." Remember this we are made of matter which came from " stars. " Some believe as far back as the " Big Bang " when two or more stars created our known universe. We are matter and energy. ( 1 1/2 volts ) This is what makes our heart beat. When we die that small amount of energy in our body is returned to God who is all energy and the Creator of us through His son Jesus.
Death is the act of completing a cycle of life. Just like we have Spring, (birth) Summer,(peak of our life)Fall, ( we get old) and Winter, ( we die and move on.)
Just remember this. It was the fact that Jesus died perfect and in doing so, defeated Satan. The Resurrection is not as important as is Jesus dying perfect in every way. So because Jesus suffered a terrible death and paid the price for your " original sin " caused by Adam and Eve, you now have a chance for eternal life. That my dear is called the "Good News" or the gospel message of the Bible. The fact that because of Jesus Death in Perfection and pleasing his Father Jehovah. ( Psalms 83:18 )
Do not fear death. Just believe in Jehovah God and His son Jesus and do good for others and the poor and you will be just fine. OK ? OK.
Best Wishes,
The Woodster

Once we die, we rot. That is the basis of Nihilism and existentialism. We don't come here for a specific purpose. I mean, do you fret about whether a bacteria is going to heaven or hell if it gets killed by your immune system? We are no different from the rest of the animals. We just happened to be somewhat more intelligent and much more inferior in bodily ways.
Then what's the point of living? That is the reason why we have to live our lives to the fullest. And trust me. In theory, just rotting after death is FAR MUCH better than going to heaven or hell. Why? If you go to heaven, then you will be dumbfounded with happiness. However, if that continues, you'll get so used to being happy that you wouldn't know if you are truly happy or not. Almost like drug hallucination. That's how happiness works. You need certain amount of woe to be truly happy. You wouldn't know what to do. Some time later, you'll be sitting at the edge of a cloud just drooling off your saliva.
And hell, yes you know it's painful and stuff. At least it's better than heaven. Pain makes you sharp, so if you get used to pain after a couple hundred years then you'll be able to think. That, I believe, is much better than drooling off your saliva not knowing what to do.
Also, I really don't think there should be heaven or hell because there is no good or bad really. Is killing bad? Why? The Strong dominating the weak is the law of nature. If we try to deny nature, then that just shows human being's arrogancy clearer than anything.

Jesus wasn't seen by "millions" of people. There weren't millions of people in that area then, and by the time the story got into the bible, who knows what really happened?
I believe that after you die, you will be just as you were before you were born. You won't exist. Of course, this is a very hard concept to accept--that's why religions always have an afterlife component of some sort. That does not change the reality. I know it sucks, but, on the other hand, before you were born, did you have any problems? Any pain? No. So maybe it's not so bad.

Our bodies are buried but our souls go on.
The fear, I think, is the unknown, we always worry about it ie: going on a blind date, meeting new people, moving, going to a new school, will we fit in etc, it's never as bad as we lead ourselves to believe and in most cases we have worried over nothing because everything turns out just fine.

Hey as long as I'm not tortured for all eternity or rot in the ground and do nothing for the rest of time (though the latter is very probable) I'll be happy.

Ecc 12:6 Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern.
Ecc 12:7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

(How could Jesus have been seen by millions of people after his ressurection? Was there a parade across the continent?)
Anyway, you won't be conscious to worry about death when you are dead. Take comfort in that.

I believe when we die, that's the end of the story. I do not believe we have some immortal soul that lives on after our physical presence has ceased to exist. The best any person can hope for is to live a good life and hope to live on in the hearts and minds of those they touched.

I do not believe we do! Life is eternal and the body is not you. You are a Spirit having a human experience, not a human trying to have spiritual experiences.Explore the depths of your inner "Being" or the Awareness that is "you".
