I am a mennonite woman. I wear and adhere to the dress Mennenite strict dress code. I attend services with my husband as often as we can due to the distance we live form
the church. We are accepted and have a very close relationship with our church family. Why on earth
would anyone think that mennonite are only white?

Yes, I do know some black Mennonites! And a lot of Native American Mennonites, too. People come out with the strangest ideas sometimes, don't they? It's just that most people stay in their own little group and take little notice of others right in their own countries. They get a limited idea of what people are really like. I guess many people associate Mennonites with German people and don't see that that was the origin of the church, just like Lutherans, who can also be anyone you would meet. I'm glad you and your husband are happy in your church. God bless you both.

Well where I live all the Mennonites are white....but there aren't many blacks around here either...so that might be why...

Btw...do you kids do a self study school? The Mennonites in my area do...and it's open to all people, not just Mennonites. I was thinking about doing it. I could've gotten my senior year of highschool done in 2 months....

The same reason that people think mormons will get their own planet when they die.

Misinformation and lies spread on the internet.

EDIT: Roger, there are different sects of mennonites just like in any religion. Some believe in using very little or no technology while others believe some technology is ok.

I am not "white", my biological father is Sephardi. My closest and dearest friend is a Reformed Mennonite. I have been to his Meeting House and attended his father's funeral. I have had invitations to join the church.
Coincidentally I have seen Mennonites of Asian background.

I never thought about it, but now that you've mentioned it, I've only seen white Mennonite's. Thank you for educating me.

I'm just curious. You're mennonite, and you have a computer. Is it your computer or are you at the library?

I thought mennonites shunned electrical devices.
