Titles of nobility are meaningless in the US.

You can use it on your business cards all you want so long as there's no "intent to deceive". Whether your States DMV will let you put it on your license is another issue. Here in CA the DMV won't put even genuine titles on - If Sir Richard Branson moves to CA, his license will say "Richard Branson".

You can call yourself anything you wish...it doesn't make it so.

"Lords and Ladys" are appointed by the Sovereign in England - today that would be Queen Elizabeth II.

It is not a legal name so unless your birth certificate says "Lord This" or Lady That" you can't use it on government documents.

Of course, if your roots go back to England and you are directly related to and an inheritor of a Lordship, then you can probably get away with it. Inheritor means that when the current Lord dies, you inherit the title because you are his direct descendent and the next in line for the title.

No. You can only use it if you are an actual Lord. No on ein the United States is a Lord, so its citizens will never be able to use that title, period. If you want to become a Lord, try going to Great Britain, and becoming a citizen there, and doing something that will get you that title.

Yes, but you'll be seen as pretentious and not just a little silly.

While the Constitution prevents federal officeholders from accepting titles from foreign governments, nothing prevents others from doing so.

If you want it on your driver's license, you'll have to change your first name to Lady. Doctors, lawyers, judges, senators and presidents don't get their titles on their driver's licenses.

In the US, you can call yourself pretty much anything you want, except a Dr. or govt official.
