Why is it that it is okay to give into a politician swearing on the Koran but not okay to pray in school. Why is it that it is okay when Mohammad complains that he is offended by everything Christian but Merry Christmas has been turned into happy holidays? Why is it that marriage was okay for a million years as one woman one man but all of a sudden it isn't fair anymore? Is that enough or do you want more?

Are you serious that you don't see the difference?

"Why is it that it is okay to give into a politician swearing on the Koran but not okay to pray in school."

One is state sponsored and paid for by tax money and the other is not. It's a personal choice of what book the politician wants. (I would agree if you said get rid of all religious books used to swear in politicians. But if you allow one you have to allow any and all)

You just wrote Merry Christmas. This argument fell apart.

In spite of your exaggeration it's simpler than that at least in the US.

Is marriage secular or a religious institution?

If it's secular congress is able to make laws to restrict it but it would be unconstitutional to do so.

If it's a religious institution congress can not make laws restricting it because it's a religious institution and that would be unconstitutional.

The fact is it was never fair. What you consider fair is your religion always getting its way and receiving preferential treatment. Fair we haven't seen yet but hopefully it will come.

1) "Merry Christmas has been turned into happy holidays"

To be more politically correct.

2) "Why is it that marriage was okay for a million years as one woman one man but all of a sudden it isn't fair anymore."

I know. It sucks that you're black-and-white view of the world is slowly being crumbled..

Oh that's a very simple question:

1. Because the politician is obviously Muslim.
And the only reason he actually is doing that
is oh wonder: BECAUSE HE OTHERWISE
HAD TO SWEAR ON THE BIBLE.

2. What has that to do with Taliban schools?

3. I agree with you. It's nonsense.

4. Because people choose for themselves
and not a group of radical Taliban.

it's freedom of religion - the politician can also swear on the Bible if he wanted to
it's not okay to pray in school - b/c of seperation of church and state, also which type of prayer would be allowed (Hindu, Christianity, etc...)
Mohammed does not complain about everything Christian - in the Muslim religion (not the twisted version of extremists), Christianity is not perceived as evil..

enslaving black people was okay for a long time too; as well as women not having equal rights --

Your questions lack reason...

It is ok to be sworn in on a Koran, because it is ok to do with a Bible. Where is the relevance to school prayer in that?

Marriage was ok between one man and many women for thousands of years before laws mandating one woman and one man.

In fact look in your Bible. Most of the Old Testamnet Prophets had multiple wives... Noah, Abraham and on...

No, it's not okay to have religion (anyone's religion) in a public school or any public forum that is intended for all and paid for by all taxpayers. If we allow one religion we would have to accept all - Do you want your children taught other religions at school or would you rather stick to reading, writing and arithmetic? It's not an attack on Christians it is just a simple reminder that not everyone is a Christian.

It is not okay for anyone to swear on the Quran.
Quran is a lecture and not a book, and in book-form Quran is just a book, unlike the Bible.
Quran should not be made equal with the Bible and anyone who does this is a disbeliever.
Muslims swear by Allah, and not on the Quran.
Those who go to their Quran can check this out.

Peace

I guess I'm going to need more.

Are you saying we should have Islamic prayers in schools?

Should we turn happy holidays into Happy Hannukah?

If you look deeply at your examples, you'll see that religious freedom protects you just as much as everyone else.

You've just grown used to the idea that Christianity has the right to stamp out everyone else's beliefs.
