Couldn't we have just been forgiven without someone having to be killed?

Having someone die for your sins seems pretty sinful to me.

Its not "my sin"

Should someone have to die for me or for anyone?

You can't kill a divine being. He gave his physical body to be the human sacrifice like the passover lamb. Thus all our sins were atoned for. That's powerful magic. It was sinful to execute him but it enabled his message to be spread. Jesus is alive and well and living in all our hearts, no matter what we call him.

If you had read the Bible, especially the Old Testament you would know that the LORD God tried to make the Jewish people realise that they sinned by them having to kill an animal as a sacrifice. This meant that they were to see an innocent creature suffer for them.

But those people sinned and sacrificed without accepting they should change their ways. So in the plan and purpose of God Jesus was to come to be the perfect sacrifice who did no sin, though he was tempted.

Jesus willingly went through the awful suffering and death that we might be saved.
That is if we trust God and obey Him and attempt to follow the example His son Jesus gave us of being selfless.

To answer this question think about how most things that you do have a consequence. When you're a kid and you do something bad you are grounded. There must always be a price for what you did. Its the same way with Jesus. When the world sins there has to be some atonement to make up for what was done wrong. You can't just do nothing and expect forgiveness. So Jesus died for all of us and he was the atoning sacrifice for all of our sins. And because of what he did we can ask for forgiveness and it will be given.

When Adam was created, he was perfect and sinless. When he chose to sin, he became imperfect and sinful. Rather than destroy them right off, God chose to allow Adam and Eve to procreate and have offspring. But these offspring inherited a sinful state from them, and then passed that on to THEIR offspring, and so on and so on. If Adam and Eve had not sinned, the earth would be filled with perfect people living in a paradise forever.

But........in order to get back what Adam and Eve lost for us, it would take the sacrifice of another perfect individual (but one that would die faithful to God) to balance the scales of justice. This is why Jesus came and this is why Jesus died for us. His sacrifice does two main things (1) it is the means through which we exercise our faith and may have our sins forgiven by God when we pray through Jesus, and (2) it is the means by which obedient mankind may be granted the everlasting life that Adam and Eve lost for us.

He was made in God's image, but was still a man and all men die though the memory of them lives on in those that remain alive for as long as we are reminded of them.
I think it a shame that those who believe in a God can't put aside the differences created by the various Profits, who have been made special but were nevertheless men, and work towards a world of peace - or is that too much to ask the power hungry men demanding things be done only in their way?

Adam's sin put Satan firmly and permanently in charge of this world.

Jesus' death resulted in the destruction of Satan's evil dominion, since no one, not even the devil, had the right to take the life of the son of God.

Unfortunately, that was the only way Satan's dominion over mankind and the earth could have been legitimately destroyed.

Once Satan had been cast out, grace and forgiveness could work to bring about the salvation of souls ... courtesy of Jesus, who obtained that grace for us ... grace that would be primarily distributed through the only church that Jesus ever founded ... for the purpose of our salvation.

The true name of our precious MESSIAH is YAHSHUA, HE was HEBREW, not Roman or Greek. It was all part of YAHWEH's plan from the very beginning to raise up a SAVIOR WHO WOULD GIVE HIS LIFE & HIS BLOOD FOR THE SALVATION OF MAN!!! All thing act according to YAHWEH'S LAWS, & THE LAW STATES THAT THERE CAN BE NO FORGIVENESS WITHOUT THE SHEDING OF BLOOD!!! It also states that "THE SOUL THAT SINS, IT MUST DIE!" Thus, we were all condemned to die for our own sins, & only the blood of a sinless "man" (not a god) could atone for the death penalty that was held against us, meaning all mankind! YAHSHUA'S blood was the purchase price for our "past" sins, thus paying the purchase price for our salvation, should we chose to accept it!!! Now, it is our choice as we live each day that if we want to live we will live by the LAWS of YAHWEH, & if we chose to die, we will reject the LAWS of YAHWEH!!! Therefore, chose life, so thqat you may live & prove the acceptable way of YAHWEH!!!

The Italians didn't like his moving in on the spirituality market in Palestine, so they talked to a few people and the fix was in....

It was a state-sponsored hit basically.

If you want the spiritualistic spin.....

Belief in an omnipotent Diety means that God the Father wanted him dead for reasons we can only guess at.

If you think that Satan took him out against God's plan, then Jehovah isn't as omnipotent as some folks think.

If you think that the Supreme Being is embodied in a trinity, and that the one part of the trinity that is really One wanted to commit suicide-by-legionnaire to get the attention of humanity....well.....I don't think anyone can come up with an explanation convoluted enough to suit your tastes.....

As always....your mileage may vary.

Jesus chose to die of His own free choosing.

He could have called on tons and tons of angels but did not.
He could have gotten down from that cross and kicked their butts but did not.
He could have let them make Him King but did not.

Lot of things He could have done to be spared...but did not.

While on the cross, He could have made it so He felt no pain, but He did not.

Truth is Jesus died for your sins and my sins and everyone's sins.

We have two choices:

Either we believe and receive Jesus and His payment for our sins and repent.

or

We reject and refuse to repent and pay for our own sins for all eternity in the Lake of Fire.

For those who whine about people going to the Lake of Fire...grow up...at least you have an OPTION. If Jesus had not died and rose again...you would have ONLY the option of the Lake of Fire....so GROW UP and stop whining.

Cause whining and begging and using excuses on Judgment Day won't cut it.

God set the law - without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sins.

God wants you to know how terrible sin and disobedience to Him is. Whether you like it or not, we all answer to the Great Judge, the Creator of All, Almighty God, The Great I Am.
