I left my dog in a room so he wouldnt tear up the rest of the house. Big mistake! He completely chewed up about a foot of the carpet. Even bigger problem being that I am renting the house, which the owners are going to be trying to sell shortly. I just need to know if there is any way possible to fix it? And if its possible to get the carpet to match?

You could take the carpet out of a closet. Alot of carpets are installed wall to wall will have there closets done. The carpet will be needed to be done by a pro. I do not recommed from a walk in closet. If this method wont work you can get a carpet rem. from a carpet co. And get as close as possible to the color. And just replace the one room.

This happened to me once a long time ago. This may not be a good thing to do but you could try it. Cut a piece of carpet from a walk in closet...if possible....and put it where the torn up part is. Worth a try. Hopefully it's on an edge and not in the middle.

go to a carpet store, and take in a sample of the peice your dog chewed up, and replace that if possible.
for many times carpet places will have remnants.
If they dont. they may be better at recommendations.
If the carpet is really old then talk about it with the owners and see how you can then replace or fix that area.

Half the roof came in when I left my house that the landlord told me to leave cause he wanted his daughter in there, glad I did not bother fixing it, he never did give back my £250 deposit, or washing machine.

But sounds like you got a nice landlord, think it would be best to get piece for entire room, probably work out cheaper. Repairs often cost as much and never look right.

I would talk to him about it... be honest. Maybe the two of you could split the cost of new carpet for that room... it would be fairly reasonable if he would do that.
